Paul joined Catch Engineering in 2016, filling the Drafting and Document Control (S.M.E.) role, and establishing the drafting standards and procedures the team uses today. Since then, Paul has become our Design and Drafting Manager. With 30+ years of design and drafting experience in the energy industry, Paul has acquired skills in various mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines. He mentors and supports the entire team at Catch Engineering and is actively engaged in all aspects of our projects.
Previously Paul has helped build and support small-to-medium-sized EPCs, field services and fabrication operations. A skilled designer/drafter, he has led and managed drafting, document control and IT teams for over 15 years. He has completed training on the latest CAD systems, including AutoCAD, MicroStation and other third-party tools, to accurately produce complete 2D drawing packages. He is particularly familiar with electrical, structural, and piping plan requirements for the oil and gas industry.
Paul has led 3D modelling projects to support the builds of oil batteries, compressor stations, high voltage substations, SAGD, chemical facilities, and well pads. He has a remarkable ability to adapt to working on both greenfield and brownfield designs.
Paul has a diploma in Engineering Drafting & Design from SAIT, graduating with Honours in 1991.
Paul has many other interests in sports and outdoor activities outside the office, having coached hockey, ringette, soccer, and lacrosse – all of which have helped his leadership skills personally and professionally.
